Protecting Our Environment Along with the expansion in 1995, Central Bindery Company installed a state-of-the-art scrap paper recycling system. It took six weeks to install the $300,000 system, which connects to all the cutters, stitchers, perfect binders, and other equipment causing paper scrap.

This vacuum-powered system allows us to recycle approximately 1.8 million pounds of scrap paper annually. That saves some 1,530 trees each year! The recycling system also allows Central Bindery to streamline its processes, better manage its resources, and increase its revenue by selling the scrap to cardboard and paper manufacturers.

All this, while keeping tons of material out of our landfills, helping our world!
